Testimonial from COL Alexander Ernest, MD, Urologist
I have been in the military for more than 20 years as a physician including 10-plus years of experience in leadership, training, hiring, and managing people, etc. but what I was missing from my experience was interviewing on behalf of myself. I had little to no recent experience preparing a resume to obtain a job nor interviewing for a job.
My last series of interviews which were comparable to this experience was in 2003 as I interviewed for a residency position. Mrs. Oliveaux respectfully met me where I was with my lack of experience interviewing and not only professionally coached me but wrote out questions for me to ask and additional things for me to consider. I have friends who work in HR and interview people for a living. I asked my friends for advice and found it to be empty and shallow in comparison the expert counsel which Mrs. Oliveaux provided to me.
I am considering giving a professional talk to the Kimbrough Urologic Society of Military Urologists in 2026 regarding my 18-month journey searching for a civilian urology position to include do’s, don’ts, and how to be successful, etc. Much of what I would present and/or say would be advice given to me by Mrs. Oliveaux.
It is my intent to provide the highest of recommendations regarding her work and professionalism.
