The School of Medicine, and Department of Surgery at a Central Virginia hospital are pleased to announce the search for a Chief of the Urology Section to lead their expanding team of six urologists and three advanced care practitioners. This clinic-based academic program offers exceptional opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical urology.
The Chief will direct the clinical, educational, and research activities for the Section, as well as the planning and building of a future Urologic Surgery Residency Program. This is a great chance to join a dynamic, academic multi-specialty group practice providing comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care for adults and children supported by state-of-the-art technology, advanced diagnostic tools and treatment options including Da Vinci Robots (Xi, X, and SP), ultrasound, and MRI guided prostate biopsy.
Position Highlights:
• MD/DO, Board Certification/Eligible in Urology
• At least 5 years of progressive urology leadership in an academic setting with an academic rank of at least Associate Professor
• Academic appointment at the medical school
• Evidence of strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Allocated weekly administrative time
• Experience with graduate medical education is preferred
• Provide oversight for the development of a Urology Residency Program
• Fellowship Training in a Urologic specialty is preferred
• Research opportunities in Basic Science, Clinical Trials and Translational Science
• Call is 1:6
• Incoming urologist will have immediate volume
