A privademic group in Southern California is seeking an experienced neurologist to lead their NEW Neurology Residency Program in Temecula, CA. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the development of a brand new neurology residency program in Southern California, and also practice at one of the premier neurology private practice groups in the country. All adult subspecialties are encouraged to apply, as the group has comprehensive patient-care facilities.
For the clinical piece of this opportunity, you will be joining a leading Private Practice. This private practice has been operating for nearly 50 years and currently boasts 40+ full-time neurologists in Southern California. Every location within this group is Joint Commission accredited, and there is a support staff of both clinical and non-clinical leadership. Nestled in between San Diego and Los Angeles, Temecula is a wonderful city in Southern California with a great cost of living and easy access to the rest of Southern California.
For the Residency Program Director portion of this opportunity, you will be a part of a Southern California Medical Education Consortium. Launched in 2018, this program was created to develop GME residency and fellowship programs throughout California. The goal is to provide communities with superior quality care while offering unique training opportunities to the next generation of healthcare providers. They currently have 12 GME programs, with Neurology being the 13th.
Opportunity Overview:
-Program Director for new Neurology ACGME accredited Residency Program
-Hospital location is located adjacent to the Private Practice.
-The position has no call requirements
-Partnership track

Position Requirements:
-Current board certification by the ABPN
-3+ years of current or very recent PD, APD, or Core faculty experience in an accredited neurology GME program
-Demonstrated ability as a leader, educator, and clinician
-Recent history of scholarly activities/research
-Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
Residency Program Director Details:
-.4 FTE
-Program Director will provide oversight and support the future growth of the accredited Adult Neurology Residency program. The Program Director will have dedicated time for program-related administrative, educational, strategic, and research initiatives.
-The ACGME Residency Program is facilitated through a 140-bed hospital that is currently home to multiple residency programs.
-The MEC currently facilitates 12 residency and fellowship programs in Southern California.
