This city, just 30 miles south of Miami and 30 miles north of Key Largo, in the area known as Miami’s Countryside, is a growing agricultural South Florida escape where one can find expansive farms and lush nurseries, tropical gardens, farm-to-table eateries, unique historic sites, and thrilling outdoor adventures. A prime destination for outdoor adventures, it offers access to two major national parks — Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park — for camping, hiking, boating, fishing, and diving. If you’re a beach-lover, but want to avoid too many tourists, the location is ideal. It has many beautiful beaches nearby, that you can visit whenever you have the chance and time. It is growing and is full of friendly neighborhoods and people you can actually get to know and befriend. It is ethnically and culturally diverse, but its core value is the lack of alienation and estrangement which is present in some bigger cities. Housing is much lower in price when compared to the national median value. Florida has no state income tax.
