Academic Pediatric Neurosurgery Opportunity in Sunny Southwest

An academic medical center in the sunny Southwest is excited to offer an academic pediatric neurosurgery opportunity! Immediate volume is available. This is the main teaching hospital for a large university. An interest to participate in resident education and clinical research is expected. Experienced and those newly trained are welcome. Mentorship is readily available for new grads. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a renowned program as it grows its neurosurgery service line, expands its market share, and works to remain on the cutting edge of clinical care!

This is a 500+-bed hospital designated as a Level I Adult Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The hospital recently purchased a Stealth system and offers state-of-the-art technology. The pediatric arm of the neurosurgery department boasts active craniosynostosis, spina bifida, and fetal programs. Pediatric neurosurgeons do not take call; adult neurosurgeons are comfortable handling acute cases and will pass them off to the pediatric hire in the morning.

Practice Highlights:
• Expectation to be open to clinical trials; will receive support of department's research arm
• Walk into immediate volume, with ~150 cases available in year one
• Designated pediatric hospital inside adult hospital
• Tumor, epilepsy, and vascular teams very comfortable scrubbing in on peds cases if needed; very collegial team
• Catchment area of over 1M
• Currently training APPs for pediatric neurosurgery
