A Department of Neurosurgery at an institution in the Southeast is seeking a US BC/BE neurosurgeon with expertise in complex spinal surgery to join a group of skilled neurosurgeons in a highly collaborative academic environment. The newly recruited neurosurgeon will focus on spine but also participate in general neurosurgery and trauma call. The position will include work at the three hospitals, including the university's flagship medical center and a VA center. The ideal candidate will have undergone fellowship training in spine and be able to apply minimally invasive spinal surgery techniques and undertake outpatient spine surgery for selected cases. The position also includes teaching and research responsibilities and requires an ability to work well with neurosurgical and critical care partners.

The university's flagship hospital is a Level IV Epilepsy Center and a Level I Adult Trauma Center. The hospital is a regional referral center for head trauma, spinal cord trauma, burns, and other serious conditions. Teaching opportunities include their highly successful neurosurgery residency program as well as medical students from the College of Medicine.
