Medical Director Opportunity for Cranial-Focused Neurosurgeon in Large Southwestern City!

A large hospital system in the Southwest is eager to recruit an experienced, cranial tumor-focused neurosurgeon to assume the role of Medical Director of Neurosurgery for their system. The director will oversee the development of the neurosurgery program.

The primary hospital is a 270-bed, nationally recognized, full-service acute care hospital. This campus holds a primary stroke designation and is home to the only neuroscience institute within the multi-hospital network.

The health system has committed to developing and expanding its footprint throughout the greater metropolitan area. Plans underway include the construction of a new hospital and the expansion of a current hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a successful, growing, and committed program in a beautiful location!

Practice Highlights:
• Call is 1:4
• Cranial volume conservatively estimated to be 150 cases in year one with more than 225 once established
• Terrific program building opportunity
• Biplane purchased and set to be delivered Q1 2025 (system is also adding a neurovascular neurosurgeon)
• Strong internal referral base exists
• Service area population of over 2.3 million
• Group employs a hospital PA, one PA per attending, in addition to a PA float system
• Block time will be made available
• Dedicated Neuro-ICU beds with four neuro-intensivists on staff
• Seasoned service line director dedicated to the neurosurgery program
• Expectations for the leadership role are 20% admin/80% clinical
